THE GOAL
Expand a visual identity to create a cohesive, innovative, adaptable system for use across all units within The Grainger College of Engineering.
I was approached to take the college’s refreshed brand positioning and expand the visual identity to match its new positioning and messaging. I incorporated new visual assets and a flexible, plug-and-play toolkit that let every unit run with it, giving them more flexibility, stronger consistency, and zero off-brand drift.
After exploring additional design elements, making sure they play nice together, and creating mockups of more realistic print and digital pieces for client review, it was time to build out the system we would implement for the unit toolkits.
All 12 departments in the college had access to their own box folder that included easy-to-edit design templates.
OUTCOME
The college received a complete, on-brand “unit toolkit” with fully editable templates for digital ads, email graphics, event materials, promotional pieces, and print collateral. The system is flexible yet consistent, making it easy for departments to create their own materials while staying aligned with the refined brand positioning and visual identity.
